Ranbir Kapoor is in news these days owing to his relationship with Alia Bhatt and his upcoming film Sanju. Recently in an interview, Ranbir opened up about his love life and career choices. Ranbir admitted that he did not believe in Rajkumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani that casts him opposite ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif.
Recently in an interview with Anupama Chopra, Ranbir revealed how he felt that his career was screwed after working masala film Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. The actor said; “When I did Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, I thought I’m screwed. I thought nobody will offer me movies and my career as an actor is over.” The movie however, was a big hit.
Ranbir also talked about his career choices and said; “Since my first film Saawariyaan and every film that I’ve done since then, every choice has been mine. I’m responsible for every film that I’ve done; I’m responsible for every successful film and every failure that I’ve had. I can’t take a third perspective on the script, ‘You like it?’, ‘Should I do it?’, ‘You think box office, commercially it will do well?’ Because if I’m not connected to the material or character, I will not be able to do anything about it, be good or submit or surrender myself. I don’t have that skill that Aamir (Khan) sir has. That’s why he’s who he is today. I guess it’s something that you develop with experience that comes with doing a lot of work, with years of understanding your audience.”(sic)
Ranbir and Katrina have worked together in films like Rajneeti and Jagga Jasoos. While Rajneeti worked on the box office, Jagga Jasoos failed at box office despite of great reviews. Ranbir joked about the movie and said; “It broke my heart and my bank account.”
On the professional ground, Ranbir Kapoor has a bag full of movies with Sanju, Brahmastra, and Luv Ranjan's next with Ajay Devgn on-line.
