Raveena Tandon To Be Present At An Initiative To Save The Beach Movement

#SaveTheBeach initiative – a multi stakeholder partnership between Corona and Earth Day Network, in association with Mission Green Mumbai, Juhu – Soul of the City, Forward 69 and BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation is all set to be held on March 1, 2019. The aim of this initiative is to implement a long-term solution for addressing littering and waste-disposal on the Juhu beach. Launched on the World Environment Day (June 05, 2018), some of the milestones achieved by the campaign are as follows:

14000+ volunteers have taken part in this drive as of January 2019. On June 05, 2018 over 5000 volunteers were a part of the clean-up at Juhu beach. 90+ organisations have actively taken part in the campaign till date and helped us keep the spirit of the Juhu beach intact. 500+ volunteers who have actively taken up part in the clean-up work have been recognised by Corona and Earth Day Network during our quarterly events. The campaign has also captured the attention of the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi who congratulated our campaign on Twitter.

Raveena Tandon along with local corporator Ms. Renu Hansraj will inaugurate a unique art installation at Juhu beach under the support and guidance of honourable MLA Ameet Satam. The installation will signify how the incessant discharge of plastic waste in the ocean waters is proving to be a threat to the marine biodiversity. To keep the momentum going, we would like to invite you for another beach clean-up event scheduled at Juhu beach on March 1, 2019 from 3 pm – 5.30 pm. The day marks the occasion of World Wildlife Day where the focus will be on marine species this year. This year the theme of World Wildlife Day 2019 is “Life below water: for people and planet”. Says Raveena Tandon, “Come Join Us before our marine life gets replaced by TRASH”.The event will proceed as follows:
