HERE IS THE REASON WHY DEEPIKA PADUKONE HAS NOT SIGNED MULTIPLE FILMS POST-PADMAAVAT

Deepika Padukone is one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood and she has nailed this with her stellar performance in Padmaavat. Despite being so successful, the actress has not signed any film post-Padmaavat.

There was Vishal Bharadwaj's untitled film which was supposed to begin shooting but Irrfan's ill-health led to the postponement of the project. DP does not have any film in her kitty and it leaves people wondering if it is because of her neck injury or her rumored wedding with Ranveer Singh.

According to Deccan Chronicle' source, the actress is keen on doing an author-backed role and she has not been offered something along those lines. The source said; "Her back/neck problem is being properly attended to and she will be fine soon. As for marriage plans, they in no way impinge on her career. The reason Deepika is not signing anything new is because of the quality of roles coming her way. They are all big-banner films with top heroes. But nothing even remotely as author-backed or inspiring as Padmaavat.  At this stage in her career, Deepika is no more content playing the conventional leading lady. It has to be a script that offers her as much to do as the male protagonist.”

Also the big banners are not ready to pay heavy amount to female leads. The source added; “She has gone on-record to claim she was paid more than the leading man in Padmaavat. Big banners like Yash Raj Films and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions are not willing to  pay her that kind of  money."
