Slowly and steadily the entertainment industry is coming back on track post the COVID-19 lockdown. Following the Unlock 6 guidelines of the Union Home Ministry, the Maharashtra government has allowed the cinema halls, theatres to open with 50% seating capacity with immediate effect. But in the past few months, Indian filmmakers have turned their direction towards digital and have released many films on OTT platforms.
Vinod Bhanushali, President and Co-producer, T-Series said, ‘’The digital market has grown in the last few years and it is something that we cannot ignore. OTT platforms today are bringing some really good and interesting content and if the audience like and appreciate it then that helps the entertainment industry to evolve and grow together.”
When asked about multiplexes losing its audience over the last few months, he said, “Regardless of everything, the 70mm screen has a magic and charm which is undeniable. It is a larger-than-life experience that the audience would want to take in and that is incomparable to anything else.
Moreover, multiplexes and theatres have seen an evolution when it comes to electronic platforms starting from radio to television to VCR, VCD and DVDs to the internet boom, and somehow they have co-existed together. So in the end, it’s all about entertainment and how we provide that for our audiences.''
