Review Oh My Ghost ( Marathi)

Heartwarmingly Eerie

The film revolves around a poor orphan Jaggu ( Prathamesh Parab) whose parents (Pankaj Vishnu and Someshwari) have died in a car accident.

Unable to come to terms with his own life and goals poor Jaggu decides to commit suicide but his parents and sister who are now ghosts who pine for salvation save him and Jaggu comes back to his rented house where his landlord is waiting to seek the rent arrears from Jaggu.

The friendly ghosts request Jaggu without revealing their identity to him to help them achieve their unfulfilled dreams and promise to free him from their clutches.

Jaggu, the good soul that he is agrees to help the ghosts who are in turn his father, mother and sister who live with their grandfather.

How in the process of helping the ghosts, Jaggu falls in love with Priyanka ( Kajal Sharma) teach his cute sister (played by Yogeeta Parsb) kathak and help retrieve his mother her money from her savings account in  her bank and his father on his ambition to write a book and his grandfather ( Kurush Deboo)to get back his Cannon Camera and ultimately win the love of his girl Priyanka forms the crux of the film

As far as performances are concerned whole Prathamesh Parab steals the dhos as Jaggu, Pankaj Vishnu as his dad end Somedhwari as jis mother do justice to their limited roles.

While the girl who plays Jaggu's sister    is superb, Kurush Deboo as the grandfather and the actor who plays the landlord  are too good.

Wasim Khan has deftly directed the heart warmingly eerie comedy  film besides cranking the camera too.

On the whole though there are a few flaws like a story which is not cohesive or logical and twists and turns which do not at all convince us, kudos to producer Rohandeep Singh for coming up with a hilarious film which does not bore at all logic be damned.

At a time when hardly any Marathi filmmaker dares to release his film the makers deserve kudos for setting ought to entertain the audience  besides driving the message that it doesn't pay to commit suicide in society today.
