Edgy Love Tale with a Twist
Jyothi Venkatesh
The cute adolescent young love story of the series begins from a small town and does not take time at all to reach Kolkata where the couple start a new life, but the multiple challenges that the couple (Mohit played by Param Singh and Madhu Mishra played by Shiny Dixit) have to combat do not stop there and soon it becomes a love triangle as one of a divorcee young businessman Azeem Qureshi (Indraneil Sengupta) comes in the life of Madhu, after eight years of her married life with Mohit.
In short, Tadap is a love story based in a city of West Bengal trapped in the old tradition of our society, where a girl sacrifices everything for her love. To become a single soul, both the boy and the girl choose a path and soon face the ocean of troubles. While they are trying to handle things, destiny interferes and a well-settled single parent enters the girl’s life showing the difference between dreams and reality and the girl is torn apart between the love she has for her husband and the feelings that she has for her new lover, because her husband is not able to provide her their own offspring but she is drawn towards the five year old daughter of her lover.
I would not be going out of my way if I say that the interesting web series hooks you in its world with its very first opening scene. You can feel that you are completely involved in the story and feel the web of the jolting emotions of the characters. The background music of the web series is so soothing and melodious that it will continue to linger in your minds as well as buzz in your ears once you listen to it. You can listen to its soft track and enjoy your viewing, which will make your day. Not only is the story of Tadap gripping but also all the characters are grey in the series and deal with multiple situations and the plot is not just yet another hero-villain story.
The best thing about the plot ridden web series is that the erotica genre has been well justified in every episode, and you only end up craving for more. While credit ought to go to the cute Shiny Dixit who has definitely delivered her career-best performance by portraying the cute child bride who transforms into the adult Madhu Mishra, Param Singh also does not lag behind in etching a performance as Mohit which has many layers and a lot of dimensions. Indraneil Sengupta lives his role as the businessman divorcee with a kid who falls for the young Madhavi, while Papia Sengupta does not have any major scope in the half baked character of the timid mother that she sets out to play in the web series. Rituraj Singh is good as the strict father Gajendra who really loves his daughter Madhu
