Basically though the predictable plot which has story, screenplay and the dialogues by Kunal Marathe sets out to take us through a lovelorn 21 year old contemporary young man’s (Ritvik Sahore) journey of unrequited love, what makes you sit riveted and tempts you to binge watch all the nine episode of the web series is the way director Samit Kakkad has treated it with precise deftness and clarity, mirroring the aspirations and vulnerability of the youth today who often are at crossroads and are unable to decipher between what true love is and what infatuation actually is.

After the end of his school days, Kunal leaves his hometown Indore and moves to Mumbai, with an aspiration to become a merchant navy guy He considers himself the be the happiest man alive, as he is in a relationship with his school time crush Tara (Vedika Bhandari), and has also succeeded in securing a seat in a top Naval College and his parents are incredibly proud of him.

Life, however, turns upside-down when Tara coolly dumps him for another guy and poor Kunal is pushed into a world of pain, insanity and madness.

But not for too long - Kunal’s life hits rock bottom when his girlfriend Tara cheats on him with another guy.

The film sets out to drive a subtle message not so subtly that relationships can sustain only if both the individuals are equally invested in making it work.

We get to see how Kunal falls prey to the cheating ways of infidel Tara but at the same time, he’s so madly in love that he is willing to overlook her infidelity, to the point that he’s on the verge of losing his self-respect and unwittingly pushes himself into a mortal world of pain.

However, the reactions from society would have been far worse had the tides been turned in Tara’s favour and it is this stereotype that director Samit Kakkad has aimed to shatter with this narrative.

To his credit, the direction does not waver even at any single point and the protagonist’s journey of unrequited love and his journey of being the victim of an unfaithful relationship, makes you reach out to him to console him.

The narrative tries to explore how the rules of commitment and being faithful in a relationship are so very drastically different for both the sexes.

Traditionally, though men have faced harsh criticism for being unfaithful in a relationship, when circumstances are reversed, it seemingly becomes less of an issue for a woman to be cheating on her man.

And also whether they like it or not, society expects the dumped boys to move on immediately and suppressing their latent emotions leads to multiple crises.

Ritvik Sahore scores with his brilliant way of emoting and proves that he is a sure shot winner. After all to his credit as a child star he has worked in films like Super 30.

Vedika Bhandari brings to perfection her complicated and complex role as the restless and horny girl who is not able to decide who is better for him.

One wonders what an otherwise brilliant actress like Deepti Devi is doing in a web series like this in whch she has hardly any role worth speaking as the elder sister of the protagonist.

Tremendously wasted with just a scene each are Marathi actors like Sushant Shelar and Santosh Juwekar.

The web series is a tribute music wise to the Tum Toh Tehre Pardesi singer Altaaf Raja who has arranged the music besides programming the songs though Muund Suryavanshi has composed the music for tghe web series.

I think after the Mallika Sherawat starrer Khwahish which boasted of as many as 37 lip to lip kisses between the lead pair, Samit Kakkad's Indori Ishq will earn the dubious distinction of being a web series which will have unlimited and sensuous smooching sequences.

Go for binge watching the series as it is hard hitting and incisive as well as sensuous to the core.

I, for one would not at all be surprised if tomorrow Ekta Kapoor asks Samir Kakkad to direct her bold ALT Balaji shows like Gandi Baat with predominantly adult and voyeurish content
