The film sets out to narrate the tale of a car ride gone awry, as a cab driver Balram (Boloram Das, who has earlier been seen in films like Badlapur Boys, Gabbar is Back and High Jack) and his female passenger (Dipannita Sharma) who is a radio jockey on her way home after a strenuous day’s work at the radio station engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

It is indeed a wicked and devious tale where the driver may seem like just a driver on the surface but as the story unfolds, the passenger is in store for surprising unexpected twists in her dark journey which startles the wit out of her.

Halfway through the journey, the cab suddenly breaks down. In search of help, the cab driver and the RJ enter an old dilapidated bungalow. As they enter, they realize the house has been abandoned for many years. Who emerges victorious in this sinister chase forms the crux of the film.

The thriller keeps you hooked with an engrossing plot and a mind twisting open ending that provokes the viewer’s imagination.

You are left wondering if there is any eerie connection between the house and the cab driver and whether the pretty RJ will be able to escape the house. What unravels over the course of the night is a tale of mysteries, unexpected twists, and shocking revelations from the past, that dare to scar the present.

Though the director, who has also written the subject, directs the film deftly, the film which has just duration of an hour and a half ought to have been crisper, with poor editing . Because the director is overburdened with writing, direction as last but not the least editing too.

As far as performances go, Dipannita Sharma stands out in the road film which has a psychological undertone as the RJ who takes control of the situation and is sure of herself and tucks in a neat seamless performance while Boloram Das as the cab driver plays the perfect foil to her.

The rest of the supporting cast, be it Baharul Islam as the cop who cross questions the cab driver on his way at a nakabandi or Ravi Sarma and Monuj Borkotoky , who sadly flit in and out without any dimension to their characters. The movie also boasts of a chartbusting Hindi Jazz number Confusion Hai rendered beautifully by Papon, penned by Rajdweep and composed by Rahul Devnath.

To sum up, it is a niche and offbeat psychological thriller which will be liked by the intelligentsia and those who prefer to stay glued to adventurous thrillers in the midst of jungles. The extra half star is for both Dipannita Sharma for daring to come up with a different plot like this and also to ShemarooMe Box Office to daring to back talented directors
