War 2 Story
Former Indian intelligence agent Major Kabir Dhaliwal (Hrithik Roshan) has gone rogue, emerging as one of the nation’s most formidable adversaries. In response, the Indian government dispatches special unit officer Vikram (N. T. Rama Rao Jr.), known for his tactical precision and unyielding (Kiara Advani role in War 2) determination, to neutralize Kabir. Though Vikram is tasked with stopping Kabir, he harbors a hidden allegiance to a shadowy anti-India organization called KILL, under the influence of Minister Vilasrao Sarang (Varun Badola), who dreams of becoming Prime Minister.
For Vikram, self-interest comes first, while for Kabir, the nation always takes priority.
The story begins in Japan, where Kabir is seen killing people for money. After wreaking (War 2 Stars Perfomance) havoc there, Kabir is recruited by KILL, an anti-India organization supported by multiple countries. Their first mission for him: assassinate RAW chief Colonel Luthra (Ashutosh Rana), the man who raised Kabir from orphanhood and shaped him into a dedicated RAW officer. For Kabir, Luthra is like a father. Yet, circumstances force Kabir to comply—Luthra himself orders Kabir to kill him so that Kabir can infiltrate KILL and uncover its secrets.

Colonel Luthra’s daughter, Kavya Luthra (Kiara Advani), is both a RAW agent (Hrithik Roshan as Kabir in War 2) and an exceptional air pilot. She is also in love with Kabir. After Luthra’s death, RAW’s leadership passes to Mr. Kaul (Anil Kapoor). The twist unfolds when Vikram manipulates events by leaking footage of Kabir shooting Luthra to Kavya, turning her against Kabir. The truth: Vikram has been working for KILL all along, with the mission of ousting the current Prime Minister and installing Vilasrao Sarang in his place.
The narrative also explores Kabir’s past—when he was a child, it was Raghunath (later Vikram) who once saved him from bullies and mentored him, before their ideologies drove them apart. The ultimate (Jr NTR performance in War 2) battle now pits patriot Kabir against power-hungry Vikram. Who wins in the end? You’ll have to watch the film to find out.

Review
This is indeed the sixth film in YRF’s Spy Universe, not the seventh as previously mentioned. While the movie brims with action, it lacks the espionage intrigue and layered suspense typical of the genre. The action set-pieces, however, are breathtaking (War 2 Review Final Verdict) and technically impressive. The story, though not very original, keeps viewers engaged. Editing could have been tighter, as certain sequences are stretched longer than necessary due to scenic locations.
Hrithik Roshan makes a powerful comeback as Major Kabir. Jr. NTR, making his Spy Universe debut, leaves a solid impression. Kiara Advani shines in her action sequences and emerges as one of the film’s biggest takeaways. Post-interval, the film gains emotional depth through dialogues, while the romantic chemistry between Hrithik and Kiara becomes visually enchanting thanks to stunning locations.

Performances
Hrithik Roshan is at his peak in action as Major Kabir. His scenes wielding a katana (Japanese sword), slicing through enemies one after another, set the film’s tone with sheer swagger. Jr. NTR’s hard work as Vikram is evident, whether in combat or intense exchanges. Kiara Advani, as Kavya Luthra, steals the show with both action and romance. Supporting performances by Anil Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, and Varun Badola are equally impactful.
