February 13 is celebrated as World Radio Day. Radio is one medium that has been and probably will be a part of our lives for long. It has still been changing lives across the globe as many people still listen to a lot of music on the radio, be it sitting at home or while on the go. However, with the advent of the internet and new platforms, devices, including mobile phones, that streams music all day long, many feel the popularity of radio has gone down. Actor Rewati Limaye, who was seen in Arjun Kapoor starrer Kuttey, talks about it and also shares whether she listens to the radio.
“Radio is an integral part of my life. Every time I travel, I love listening to the radio. Also when I was a child I used to listen to the radio at home and there were times when  while working we used to listen to the radio. Though that time has diminished because of so many changes in technology and so many new apps that we have now. But I still make it a point to listen to the radio several times a week. The RJ talks, gigs and all the information that they give seems very good and interesting to me. I also travel a lot so I end up listening to cricket commentaries, announcements, news etc,” she says.

Rewati even tuned in to get radio on February 1 to listen to the Union Budget. She feels that radio is very informative and has its own charm.

“The caravan was a special edition in my family and my mom always listens to the radio in the morning. My only complaint is that it has too many ads on the radio and sometimes you find yourself in a situation where all the radio stations have ads so that can become a little annoying. Also, Malishka is my favourite RJ, and whenever I get time I make sure to hear her. She adds a lot of zing and interesting programming in her show so it’s nice to hear how she tackles, and entertains all of us. She calls the BMC, securities and takes up a lot of duties and responsibilities on her shoulder,” she adds.
