Today Rohitash Gaud may be a very popular actor after his stint in the popular serial Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai but he has really slogged very hard to reach this position which he enjoys as an actor today. Talking at the session on actors and TV Today at the CINTA'S Act Fest, he said that Irrfan Khan was his senior in NSD by two years. Says Rohitash Gaud, “Irrfan Khan was as realistic as an actor even at that time as he is today and used to tell me to forget all about Alkazi when I started facing the camera, as it is an altogether different world when you have to face challenges as an actor. He was right because when I came to Mumbai to try my luck as an actor after my stint at NSD, I realized that I was nothing but zero as an actor, because my speech was very theatrical and slowly and steadily I started knowing the major difference between TV and the theatre. I made it a point to learn what timing is and speech skills to equip myself as an actor. The worst scenario today as far as the channels are concerned is that they do not like to change their mindset at all. I remember when I was acting in the show Laapataganj, there was a problem of dwindling TRPs and the channel at that time suggested that we should incorporated a fashion show as part of the track. To our surprise, the track worked and the TRP’s went up for the show.
