The actor gave a talk on comedy at the festival. “I was invited at the Kanpur Festival by Atul Tiwari, Aalok Bachpayee and Anu Awasthi- who are famous comedians in Kanpur. They invited me to have a discussion on the genre of comedy. I have a keen interest in literature since childhood. And when I was in school, I remember reading the works of Sharda Joshi, Harishankar Parsai, KP Saxena,” he says, adding, “I became keener to read more literature when I went to Rashtriya Natak Vidhalaya. We had a Dramatic literature-modern India drama, Classical Indian Drama in our syllabus. I have also read many plays of Shakespeare and Hindi playwrights. Some of my favorite works include those of Mohan Rakesh and Jai Shankar Prasad and also the play of Raja Harish Chandra- Andher Nagri Ke Chaupath Raja.” The actor makes sure to take out time to read despite the advent of digital media. “I think nowadays visual media has increased and that's why you get to see everything either as movies or in a series form. But still, I read books as it has its own charm. I am mainly interested in reading biographies. Presently, I am reading the Biography of Gurudutt.
