Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films Screens 4 Short Films At Mami Mumbai Film Festival

World premieres of Maya’ by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury; ‘Shame’ by Anusha Bose;  ‘Rogan Josh’ by Sanjeev Vig and ‘Ladoo’ directed by Sameer Sadhwani and Kishor Sadhwani, produced by Neeraj Pandey were held in the section Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films, as part of the 20th MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Unaware of the fact that he is the same person. ‘Shame’ by Anusha Bose starring Swara Bhaskar, Ranvir Shorey, Tara Sharma, Sayani Gupta and Cyrus is the twisted journey of a meek, vulnerable woman who emerges from the background to unapologetically reclaim her dignity, confidence and her right to desire. This dark comedy walks the thin line that separates the two worlds; the haves from the have-nots; the affluent from the service providers; the indulgent from the repressed.

‘Rogan Josh’ by Sanjeev Vig is the story of a celebrated chef at The Taj Hotels who has invited his family and friends home for dinner to celebrate his birthday. The dinner table conversation meanders to the shared experience of a nightmarish night, 26/11. As the story progressed, they joke of how much worse the night could have gotten and question the quality of their existence after the life changing event. ‘Laddoo’ by the director duo Sameer Sadhwani and Kishor Sadhwani is the story of an inquisitive young boy. As per Hindu rituals, it is believed an offering made to ancestors on their death anniversary reaches them through the Pandit but the young boy fails to understand how this happens. Even as he struggles to comprehend this concept, he is entrusted with the imperative task of delivering lunch to the Pandit on his grandfather’s death anniversary. Being the inquisitive person that he is, he does not give up and sets out on a little adventure to figure out the answers to his questions.
