Former Bollywood lead actor-turned-singer Ruhan Kapoor ( son of legendary versatile 'late' Bollywood singer Mahendra Kapoor) seems to be sentimentally patriotic, like his famous father - Chaitanya Padukone

The enterprising Ruhan’s latest video vocal track has gone viral. Where Ruhan has beautifully sung the iconic sacred Shabad-- ‘Deh Shiva Bar Mohe’.

which was included in the soundtrack of the National Award winning movie ‘Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai’ (1969).

“As is known, the song was originally sung by my father Mahendra Kapoor-jee which later became an anthem of Punjab. Courage, above all, is the first quality of a warrior.

This video is my humble, heartfelt salute to all our Sikh Covid warriors ! We are forever indebted to all of you, “ says Ruhan with emotional streaks in his voice.

When asked what inspired him to record this vocal-tribute-track, Ruhan elaborates, . “ Just few weeks ago, I happened to be in Delhi with my wife, as my parents-in-laws were unwell, & we had to hospitalize them.

During this time we visited the Hospital frequently, and as days passed we saw Covid cases increasing rapidly.

The medical front-line teams who by now, knew us well, told us, that most families were just leaving their loved ones & never returned because of sheer fright.

They were only making video-calls on their mobiles. It was the dedicated doctors & committed nursing staff who were caringly looking after all the Covid-patients.

They were working round the clock even though they were exhausted. Acute scarcity of oxygen resulted in chaos.

This deadly new variant was a super-pandemic that affected lakhs of people who were now in distress,” shares Ruhan.

What else did he observe, which inspired him ? Reacts Ruhan, “ Without caring for their own lives, came this dynamic team of Sikh Covid Warriors.

They started ‘Oxygen Langars’ & started going door-to-door offering help, gave free medicines & distribute Oxygen Cylinders & Concentrators.

They were like God-sent Angels. No words are enough to praise their noble deeds. I used to share these experiences daily with my son, international music composer Sidhant, who was in Mumbai.

As soon as we returned to Mumbai, we were so inspired that we recorded a brief vocal-tribute-salute to these Sikh brave-hearts which has been very well received and went viral.publive-image

We received numerous calls and messages from various cities in India as well as from overseas, who were all moved by this video.

This only reaffirmed the fact that every- one thought very highly about these Sikh brave-hearts just as much and were equally indebted for all their dedicated support during these challenging times,” smiles Ruhan It was a very emotional moment for Sidhant & me when the "NRI Welfare Society" bestowed me with the "Mahatma Buddha Peace Prize" for artistically inspiring & encouraging the Sikh Covid Warriors across the world for their extraordinary help to the society in these challenging times.

It’s a great honor, as the same was awarded to His Holiness Dalai Lama last year. The occasion, which is normally held in ' The House of Commons' in London, took place this time online due to the Covid scenario but was nonetheless attended in a large number by international dignitaries comprising of eminent Doctors, Spiritual leaders & Social Workers.

The tribute-video, which has gone viral, was streamed during this ceremony eliciting a thunderous applause-response from all those present,” shares multi-talented Ruhan who has some more inspiring, motivational song-videos concepts-ideas in the pipe-line, which he hopes to execute in the coming months.
