Rushad Rana Is Glad Firebrand Was Released On Netflix

Rushad Rana, whose Marathi film Firebrand recently released on Netflix, says that he enjoyed the process of doing the film. Talking about the movie and his role in it, he says, “Firebrand brand is a story of very strong and fiery women. That's the reason it is called Firebrand. She is a lawyer and she takes up cases in which women are oppressed, they are the underdogs of society. I play a character called Freddy Mehta who is her colleague since college. We end up fighting a case against each other and I win the case. That is what my character all about.”The actor has been getting some great feedback for the film. “I am getting a very good response for my role in the film. People are loving the film. In fact, there was a write up which my director Aruna Raje sent me in which the critic has written very good things about all of us,” he says. Firebrand is a Marathi film, however, language was not an issue for the actor. “I haven't spoken Marathi in the film. The USP of Firebrand is that although it is a Marathi film, they have shown very real characters, who are also talking in Hindi. Sachin Khedekar has some Hindi scenes with Rajeshwari and even I am a Hindi speaking-character in the film. I didn't have to speak in Marathi but yes, I studied Marathi in school. So if need be, with some basic training, I will be easily able to speak Marathi in Marathi films,” he says. The actor is a fan of Netflix. “I am absolutely elated about my film having been released on Netflix. It was very unexpected as we shot for the film last year in January and we were told that it was going to have a theatrical release. But now that it has released on Netflix, I think it’s even bigger and better. So I feel really great. It was one of my wishes that I get featured on Netflix some day or the other and it has happened,” he says.
