When the iconoclastic I S Johar showed a single kiss in his film Bombay To Goa , in which he kissed his heroin Sonya Shahani, there was a furore all over . But Johar continued to show bold scenes in all his other films till his last film "Five Rifles" when Mahesh Bhatt made his first film "Manzilein Aur Bhi Hai" which was about a live in relationship , the film was banned and could be released only when the media and the people raised their voices in revolt.

Our films started growing bolder , especially our regional films . And with films like Kamasutra and Aastha ( both made with Rekha ) we were almost making pornographic films in the name of reality .

It was shocking to see nude scenes and bedroom scenes in several films and in Kamasutra , the camera even focused on the cubic hair of a woman .....

But with the coming of OTT platforms all those films and all those daring scenes seemed to be out dated and absolete .

A whole new lot of films are been made and seen by a whole new generation of people on the new "blessing" the audience have received in the last ten years .

The growing number of OTT platforms have given filmmakers the freedom to make any kinds of films in the name of reality and information and they seem to be having the time of their lives making the best of this freedom to let their imagination grow wild and wilder and the way things are with some or almost all films shown on OTT platforms it looks like we will soon be living on these kinds of films which without being very orthodox or old fashioned I must say is a dangerous trend , look at it in any way .

There has been films like Lust Stories , Hate Story 4 , Raz Reboot , Hunter ,One Night Stand, and Jack Pot . They all had realistic stories which gave them the liberty to show hot , intimate and bold scenes and the makers went out of their ways to make films that not only shocked the sensibilities of the audiences but also shook them up , but a repeated showing of such bold scenes got them addicted to them and they kept asking for them more and more filmmakers who had now specialised in the art of what could only be called soft porn gave the audience the kind of stuff they expected and much more .

Making bold , brave and bindaas films for the OTT platforms had become a way of life , and even some of the established directors stars were willing to make films that satered to this new audience with new tastes , basically the taste for more and more sex in more and more daring ways.

This trend reached a new high after the pandemic struck and millions of men , women and children were forced to stay at home and looked for new ways of entertaining themselves and what better could it be for them to watch these daring and titillating films in the comfort of their homes .

And this dependence of the family audience on these bold films encouraged several filmmakers and their financiers to keep making these kinds of films .

The demand for these blow hot blow cold films has even led a leading actress like Deepika Padukone to work in Gehraaiyaan in which she has done the most shocking scenes according to those who have been " lucky " to see the film and I am sure Deepika's doing the kissing and bedroom scenes will encourage many other actresses to opt for these bold films .

Other big actors have already signed up for such films and what they will do and how far they will go to keep with the competition of the bold actors and actresses will have to be seen .

If there is one section of actors who are victims of these bold films for OTT , it is the hundreds of young struggling actors who have been desperately looking for work , especially during the last two years .

They are being offered roles now , but only if they are willing to compromise first with the casting couch and then to do all the daring , dirty and even sleazy scenes in these increasingly growing number of sleazy films .
