Saiyami Kher, who is playing the role of a talented cricketer in her upcoming film 'Ghoomar', has been doing all kinds of training to make herself physically fit for the role. And to get the cricket scenes right, she has taken training from former cricketer Murali Karthik.
Since Saiyami plays the role of a left-handed cricketer, she prefers to train with left-handed batsmen and bowlers. Hence, Murali Karthik was the perfect fit for her to learn the techniques and details of left-handed cricket. Murali was a skilled slow left-arm orthodox bowler known for his loopy trajectory and ability to spin and bounce.
Saiyami says, “I have been passionate about cricket and have been playing the game since my school days. I kept trying to play the game with both my hands, but my in my life, my right hand is the dominant hand, so for Ghoomar, I needed to undergo challenging training and become a left-handed player. It was very kind of Karthik ji to come forward and help me with this training and he gave me many key points and little details that make a difference. I have always loved his classic orthodox action since childhood. So it was fun to get trained by him.
