Either Salman Khan is confused or Mahesh Mankjrekar is delirious at directing Salman Khan for the first time in a film. Though he had initially contemplated on titling his latest film as Guns of North, he has decided to change the title to Antim. The film is a remake of the Marathi super hit Mulshi Pattern.

Though initially, Salman Khan was slated to play the cameo role which Upendra Limaye (the Marathi actor was seen in the popular TV serial Tara From Satara recently) had played in Mulshi Pattern, later it was decided that if Salman played a cameo role, it would dilute the importance of the leading man Aayush Sharma who was planning to come with an out and out negative role and hence Salman had opted out of the film in which he was to play the role of a Sikh cop. The film was to have been directed by Loveyatri director Abhiraj Minawala.

The film will be shot in a start to finish schedule in two locations, Mumbai and Karjat. A major chunk of the film will be shot in a village, which will be recreated in a studio and Salman Khan will shoot there till January 2021. Antim, which signifies the end of the gangsters will be the first film with which Mahesh Manjrekar will be collaborating with both Salman Khan and his brother in law Aayush Sharma, will roll on November 15 in aamchi Mumbai.

With Aayush playing the role of a gangster and Salman playing the role of a cop, Mahesh Manjrekar has now decided to tweak the story of the original version a bit since it will be targeting a Pan India audience and increase the confrontation scenes between the cop and the gangster. Aatyush will attempt a change of image with a darker character who is the polar opposite of the happy go lucky character of Romeo swinging to Chogada in Loveyatri.
