Sandip Soparrkar Celebrates 10 Years Of His National Award Winning Initiative “Dance For A Cause”

Over a decade ago the celebrated dancer Sandip Soparrkar began a very unique initiative “Dance for a Cause” where he started to use dance not only as a medium to entertain but even to educate. He started to created special dance routines bringing to light various social causes prevalent in the country and in the world at large. Through “Dance for a Cause” the talented choreographer brought spotlight to various social issues such as; Adoption, animal welfare, cancer, AIDS, organ donation, acid attack, education for the underprivileged, care for the elders, care for the mentally and physically challenged, farmer suicide, dowry, prostitutes and their families and lot more. Recently the Government of Bhutan honoured ‘Dance for a Cause’ by issuing a postage stamp in its name celebrating its 10th year. To celebrate 10 years of his National Award winning initiative “Dance For A Cause” and Advitya an NGO for Specially Gifted Individuals, Sandip Soparrkar hosted a get-together at  a spacious car shop at Goregaon where the guests witnessed an amazing dance performance by Sandip with model Sheela Tiruchi & kids from the NGO Advitya. Present on the occasion were Chief Guest Dharmesh Darshan, Smiley Suri ,Rohit  Verma, Amit Dolawat, Jasveer Kaur, Kawaljeet Singh, Varsha Usgaonkar, Sahila Chadha, Sharbani Mukherji,  Shraddha Musale, Vinod Singh, Smita Bharti, Aartii Naagpal, Ratan Pratap, Arpit Chaudhary, Swapna Patker, Saif Hyder Hasan, Prashant Sharma, Dr. Sharmila Nayak,Rakesh Paul etc. Sandip Soparrkar said ”I take this opportunity to thank each of my students as well as celebrity friends who supported me helped me take ‘Dance for a Cause’ to a global level.”
