SANJU BABA, KABHI DUBAI, KABHI MUMBAI, PHIR DUBAI

This truth has been proved by legends like M F Hussain, Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar and illustrious writer Khusvant Singh and many other ordinary and extraordinary people too. And the latest man to join this exclusive club is Sanjay Dutt.

Sanjay or Sanju Baba as he is known in the industry circles was in his early 20's and was a drug addict and an alcoholic when his mother Nargis died and was not even aware of his mother's passing away.

This incident had a deep impact on his mind and history is replete of the many stories about how Sanjay has been involved in countless controversies which have taken him from one jail to another, one court to another and from one kind of life to another. His life has been an endless saga of drifting from one place to another.

And now , when he is 60 years old , there is another story about his restless spirit moving between two different cities , Mumbai and Dubai.

It was at the beginning of the pandemic that his wife Maanyata and their twin children , Iqra and Shahraan were stranded in Dubai and Sanjay was left alone in their apartment at Imperial Heights , which was once where the bungalow of Sunil Dutt and Nargis stood in all its glory.

The family couldn't meet for the next six months and had to meet or talk only online or through any of the apps on their mobiles.

Sanjay kept himself busy with some of his shootings that had started , but then came the second wave and Sanjay had already made plans to fly to Dubai and join his family before the wave could grow stronger and more dangerous.

He was very concerned about his family which meant everything to him after he had lost so much in life .

He even knew that the medical facilities in Dubai were better than in Mumbai . And moreover , he had some very good friends in Dubai who he knew would always stand by him.

Now , for the last five months , Sanjay and his family have made Dubai their home, which has been made easy by the Global Visa Scheme .

Sanjay at 60 is still one of the most popular , powerful and wanted stars in Hindi films . He now has big films like " Prithviraj", "kcf 2" and "Bhuj- The Pride of India" in the making .

All these films are mostly short in India . Sanjay has been clever enough to plan the shootings of these films according to a plan which will keep him shuttling between Dubai and Mumbai.

He has also made arrangements to see that the education of his children is not affected in any way.

It is still not known how long Sanjay and his family will make Dubai their home, but the way things are , the Dutt family will be out of Mumbai and in Dubai for at least the next six months.

And his producers and directors will have to adjust their shootings according to the plans made by "Sanju Dubaiwala"

As I write this piece , there are whispers , gossip and rumours about what must have inspired Sanju to shift his base from Mumbai to Dubai.

All seems well for the moment , but what about the time after the pandemic ? Sanjay has been the favourite of the god of controversies .

One wonders if controversies will ever leave him in peace to live the kind of life he has always dreamt of , but has never lived.
