Saregama, India's oldest and largest music label is all geared up to enthral Gujarati audiences, by collaborating with popular music band Jam8, and recreating twenty of the most iconic Hindi retro songs from their rich catalogue. Some of the notable tracks that have been recreated are Yeh Mera Dil, O Saathi Re, Baar Baar Dekho, Mere Sapnon Ki Rani, Kya Hua Tera Vaada, My Name is Lakhan and Pari Hoon Main among others. The first recreation that they have launched is the Gujarati adaptation of the yesteryear blockbuster Khaike Paan Banaraswaala from the cult Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don. The Gujarati version is called Amdavaad No Kaano and is sung by Mukund Suryavanshi. Striking the right mix of Garba beats along with the original unmistakeable melody of the original track, this track sets the mood for the cheer and celebration ahead of the onset of the festive season.
Commenting on the partnership with Saregama, Pritam, founder of Jam8 said, “ This is an exciting collaboration for Team Jam8 to get into. The opportunity to recreate the rich catalogue of Hindi retro classics into their Gujarati versions, keeping the essence of the original alive while imbuing it with distinct local flavour - is an exciting challenge . I hope the labour of love is appreciated by our Gujarati audiences.”So here’s calling out to all the fans of Gujarati music to immerse themselves into the memories of their old Bollywood favourites, this time in their native language, only on Saregama
