SATISH KAUSHIK: character first artist later

Satish Kaushik, who came to films from the stage, is one such comedian who can be placed in the ranks of IS Johar, Gop, and Deven Verma. He never used hands-feet or crooked mouth under any film humor. On listening to the dialogue full of innocence by him, the audience gets eaten up after getting lost. So he was awarded the Filmfare Award for his Madrasi character in the film ‘Saajan Chale Susral’. He made his debut in Haath Boney Kapoor’s film Prem Haath as an assistant to Shekhar Kapur. Later Shekhar Kapur left that film so Anil Kapoor seeing his ability asked him to complete Prem. And later the direction of a big film ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’ was also entrusted to him. He later set up Priyanka Productions with actor Raja Bundela as part of his small-screen debut. Under which comedy serials like ‘Scandal’, ‘O Maria’, ‘Hadsa’, ‘Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti’ and ‘Colgate Top Ten’ were successfully produced. These serials respectively Zee TV (Mujhe Chance Chahiye ‘Director Raja’) Scandal, ‘O Maria’, ‘Hadsa’ (NEPC) “Yeh Shaadi Nahi Hota Hai (Sony) ‘Colgate Top Ten! (Zee TV), and some are happening.” Colgate Top Ten continues to be the first choice of viewers. And now they are going to produce a serial called ‘Mausam’ next. Padmini Kolhapure’s younger sister, Tejaswani Kolhapure has been assigned the lead role. Satish ji answered my few questions in his office as follows.

Satish mostly prefers newcomers in his serials. Any specific reason for this?

Satish says that we give more chances to new people only. In fact, our motto has always been that the character first, the artist later. Apart from this, there is freshness in the program as well. Apart from this, new talents are also successful in showing their fun. Time is saved as well as money. Apart from this, Satish Kaushik is happy to say that this time the former president of V, Subodh Lal is joining Prayas-Production. Under his direction, we are going to produce a serial named ‘Uski Chitthi’. Which is based on a story collection. Regarding his other programs, Satish says that ‘Mausam’ is the story of a girl who comes to Delhi from a small place to become an actress, and then comes to Mumbai and becomes a famous star. After that revolutionary changes happen in his life. ‘Mujhe Chance Chahiye’ is based on a story by Surendra Verma who has won two National Awards. Also “Father-Uncle! Which is being directed by Raja Bundela’s brother Ram Bundela. These programs are still in the pipeline. Regarding another program ‘Dautal’, Satish says that its main character is a very wealthy man, and is getting married for the fifth time. What happens in his family from these marriages? The same will be shown in this program.

“Heard you in. E.P.C. suffered a lot on the channel.

– Satish says in a very distressed voice yes man, don’t just ask, we are very fed up. But what if you do? I cannot understand a thing. Well, what will happen will be seen?

What are your upcoming serials?

– “Satish says as I told that one is ‘Mausam’, the other is ‘Daulat’ and the third is “Father Uncle! Father-Uncle is such a common man, who becomes Chief Minister overnight. People still call him Father Uncle. It is being directed by Ram Bundle.

Satish ji is very happy about Subodh Lal as he is joining his company. Satish says-

“I am giving this news to Mayapuri for the first time, that Subodh Lal was earlier an I.S. Have been an officer. You Mr. You must have heard the name of Maru, he has been the President of Seenam, Mumbai. With his courtesy, Subodh Lal came to our place. Now with his arrival, there will be further development of our company. And there are many possibilities of progress, due to them we will now enter Doordarshan.

“Santish Kaushik had done the film ‘Bus Conductor! It was announced. What happened to him?

– “His script was almost ready, but in between D. Rama Naidu signed me as director for his film. So it is starting on 7th January. But the first film of Prayas Production will be ‘Bus Conductor’. Based on D. Rama Naidu’s South Indian “Pavitra Bandham”, the film will star Anil Kapoor and Kajol. Apart from this, I have also signed a film by Mansoor Siddiqui.

Satish has mostly been working with Anil Kapoor. Any specific reason for this?

Satish says that I did a small role in his film ‘Woh Saat Din’. Since then, I became friends with Anil, which later became very strong. Only later did more films with him. Whose count reached a dozen? Right now I am doing ‘Ghar Wali Bahar Wali’ with him.

I got the Filmfare Award for the film ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’. Apart from this, I currently have a dozen films with Sunil including ‘Bade – Dilwala’, ‘Amit ji’s ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi’, ‘Raja Ji’, etc. And the special thing is that in all these films I am playing the role of the protagonist’s friend, but the styles are different.

You are called IS Johar, a Deven Verma-style comedian. So have you been impressed by them?

“Yes, I have been very impressed with Deven Verma. Because they spread humor under the act. And since I have come from the stage. So I have control over myself.

Since you are Haryanvi. Is that the reason why you use this language more in your comic acting?

– “See Satish says, whatever the language may be, it should be used in such a way that the viewer can easily understand and enjoy it. Now I have used the Madrasi language in “Saajan Chale Sasural” in such a way that it is easily understood.

What are your future programs?

Now we just have to take our efforts forward in production. I will continue to direct in this, I am an actor anyway. Apart from this, I will also handle production.
