Taapsee Pannu is at it again! With the release of the new trailer of her film Shabaash Mithu, Taapsee reminds us why it is important to portray women fiercely!

After giving us several box office hits like Pink (2016), Badla (2019), Mission Mangal (2019), and very recently Thappad (2020), Taapsee Pannu really knows how to get into the soul of a character.
With the release of her new movie trailer titled Shaabash Mithu, we expect the same. The expectations are already sky-high as she is portraying the role of our favorite female Indian cricketer, Mithali Raj.
Mithali Raj is known for her record-breaking performance in a 23-year-long career. She is the only female cricketer who has surpassed the mark of 7,000 runs in Women’s One Day International matches. Shabaash Mithu would follow the journey from her childhood to the legendary status that she has achieved.

The trailer opens up with a young Mithali who is being discouraged from playing the gentlemen’s game. We also see the appearance of the critically acclaimed actor Vijay Raaz portraying the role of Mithali’s coach.
He would be the first one to recognize the talent that the young girl holds. It seems like the major focus of the film would be on these two talented actors as they take us through the trials and tribulations of a young aspiring woman trying to make it in an unusual field.
The trailer has impressively showcased the motto of the film “if you can change the way you think, you can change the game”. The film focuses not only on her struggles but how difficult it is to carve your own identity in a place unknown.

The movie is directed by Srijit Mukherji who works mostly in the Bengali industry. He is the recipient of the prestigious National Film Award for Best Direction and Best Original Screenplay for his movie Chotushkone (trans. Quadrangle).
