SHAHID KAPOOR, ILLEANA D'CRUZ TEAMING UP FOR SHREE NARAYAN SINGH'S NEXT?

As we earlier reported, director Shree Narayan Singh, who is currently basking in the success of his debut directorial, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, is all set for his next film titled as Batti Gul Meter Chalu which has Shahid Kapoor in the lead donning the role of a Lawyer.

Now, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror, Ileana D'Cruz is being considered to play the lead besides Shahid. The co-producer of the film Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment told Mumbai Mirror, "We have only spoken to Ileana so far. It is a strong role of a lawyer with intense scenes and we are casting now."

As director  Narayan's first film tackled the issue of open defecation and lack of toilet facilities in rural areas of India, his next Batti Gul Meter Chalu will also be revolving around a social cause and the film is expected to go on floors on January 19, 2018.

Shahid plays a lawyer, who raises his voice against a social issue. There's also a parallel love story for which the search for a female lead is underway. The makers are considering a few top actresses like Katrina Kaif or Shraddha Kapoor to play Shahid's love interest in the film.
