There was no great joy in the little house of Jackie Shroff when his first two films , Swami Dada and then Hero were released . Jackie was still living in a chawl with a common toilet and a common water tap for the people who lived in the chawl in the popular area of Teen Batti which was just a few kilometres away from the Raj Bhavan - Ali Peter John

Jackie had an elder brother whose name was Jai Hemant and he was a young man who the entire area was scared of and Jackie was his buddy before he became a star.

One evening Jackie received the most shocking news of his life . Jai Hemant was found dead under mysterious circumstances and Jackie went into a long spell of mourning which even lead to depression , but he was against negative thoughts like depression and so he continued with life with his parents till he was rich enough to buy his own palatial apartment in Le Papillion near the Mount Mary's Church.

He had now married Aayesha and in May 1990 , they had their first son . Jackie and Aayesha didn't know easily what to name their son .

But Jackie or Jaggu Dada as he was better known among his friends had thought of a name and it was Jai Hemant which was the name of Jackie's elder brother who had died some years ago .

The little handsome boy continued to grow up as Jai Hemant. But his father wanted him to be a very brave boy and got him trained in all kinds of daring activities and sports.

Jackie made the two year old boy sit with him at the steering of all his many expensive cars and by the time the child was six years old , believe it or not , he could drive a Mercedes or any other complicated car.

His father made it a point to take him to the mechanics at the Fr Agnel Technical School ( now very close to Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat ) and the boy spent hours discussing cars with the young mechanics who were mostly Christians.

And his father was very sure that he would not take intereste in academics and sent him to the Sports Authority Of India in Jogeshwari where he got trained in all the major sports , especially football and volleyball

But when he came out of the S A I , he showed interest in bodybuilding and it was Salman Khan who not only inspired him but also offered him his own gym for training and soon Jai Hemant had a new name , he was Tiger, Tiger Shroff.

He got himself trained in all the modern kinds of dancing and his father knew that he was inclined towards acting and he spoke to some of his friends in the business , especially Sajid Nadiadwala .

And within a matter of time , Sajid had cast him as the hero in his first film which was a comercial success but a critically disappointing film , but fortunately because of the prayers of Tiger's father and mother , the disappointment did not affect Tiger's career and he kept doing one big after another , but the biggest and the most dazzling success was "War" in which he teamed up with Hrithik Roshan for the first time and War turned out to be a block office bonanza which Tiger had not expected and had not experienced before .

No one really knows why Tiger took a break after War. But they will have all their answers now when Tigers Heropanti 2 will be released , may be even before this article comes to life on the digital media of Mayapuri.

The boy who I had seen as a child and the son of my friend Jackie Shroff us now thirty two and has already shown signs of touching the sky and it will not be far off when he really touches the sky and fights to find his way beyond the sky .
