SHOCKING! Famous Actress Uttara Baokar Passes Away!

Famous for television shows like 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin', 'Udaan', 'Kashmakash Zindagi Ki' and 'Antaral' actress Uttara Baokar has passed away. Reportedly, she was 79 years old and died due to prolonged illness. She passed away at a hospital in Pune, as reported by her family her last rites took place on wednesday.

The late actress was also very famous for playing prominent roles in a lot of Marathi films. Uttara also gained a lot of recognition for her role in Govind Nihlani's movie 'Tamas'. Uttara Baokar was a national award winning actress known for shaping the theatres in India. She was also a witness to riots and wars. Once in an interview she recalled witnessing the anti-sikh riots across the city when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated. The actress recalled seeing people running on roads due to fear.

In an old interview when she was asked about choosing acting as a career she explained that acting just happened to her and nobody in her family thought that she could ever act! The whole industry is deeply pained by the actress's demise. Celebrities are expressing their pain on losing such a wonderful gem of cinema on social media.

 Uttara Baokar won a national award for best supporting actor (female) for Mrinal Sen's 'Ek Din Achanak'. She was a remarkable human being and a great actor.
