SHOCKING!—TOILET: EK PREM KATHA PULLED UP FOR OBSCENITY BY CBFC

With a subject that promotes PM Narendra Modi's 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan', you can still be hauled up for serving the bitter reality. The lesson of the day well-learnt by Akshay Kumar, unfortunately in a hard way. His much-awaited upcoming flick Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which was being applauded by the ruling government for promoting a clean India, has been ordered as many as eight verbal cuts and has received a 'U/A' certificate.

A source was quoted a leading entertainment website, "In one sequence, Akshay Kumar is heard telling his on-screen wife, 'Tumne mujhe teen baar jagaya hai. Main koi saand hoon kya? (you've woken me up thrice. Am I a bull?)'. In another sequence, a character says that goes to pee with a rassi (thread) around his ears. He means the sacred janao worn by Brahmins. And we saw no reason for something with such sanctity attached to it being referred to so facetiously." Other than that, four statements including 'ha**mi" have been ordered out.

Well, there are two ways of looking at it. One one hand, industry insiders are reacting by saying that just because the films promotes an ideology by the Prime Minister doesn't mean the CBFC approval should be a 'piece of cake'. On the other hand, there are people who are condemning this act by CBFC because the cuts made are simply absurd (as usual).
