Shooting Motichoor Chaknachoor Was A Delightful Experience

TV and film actor Karuna Pandey, who was recently seen in Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Motichoor Chaknachoor, says she had an amazing time shooting the film. "It was delightful! The cast and crew were like a family on the set. We used to eat together, crack jokes, laugh and we were all very passionate about the project. We had only one goal – how to make a great film", she says.

The actor shared most of her scenes with actor Athiya Shetty and is full of praises for her. "She is a very well behaved girl who gelled very well with everyone. We had a great time sharing the screen. She always tried to make our scenes better," she says. She adds, "I would also like to talk about Nawazuddin; it was great working with him after so long. Long back when I had just completed my masters from Chandigarh University in Indian Theatre, I worked with him in a short film called Bypass. He is a great actor. Just looking at him on the set, one can learn so much. He is a very down to earth person."

Talking about how she prepared for the role, she says, "I was cast just a week back before we started shooting. There was no workshop and we could not do many reading sessions either. On my own, I read some Bundelkhandi slang and also saw a couple of  Bundelkhandi films. That helped me a lot. In the film, we have kept it quite subtle because the dialect should not overpower the Hindi language as we were targeting the Hindi audience." She adds, "I tried to look as simple as possible. That was the demand of the character. My role is that of a small town middle class family, I am wearing a simple saree, bindi and chappals.". The film has got fair reviews and almost all reviewer have given a thumbs up to Karuna's performance. The actor is ecstatic, and says, "While shooting for the film, we got this feeling that we will get a good review. I am really overwhelmed the way reviewers have said so many good things about me. I am thankful and happy. That’s the best appreciation for an actor. Our director Debamitra Biswal has written the story beautifully. The dialogue writer has given me some awesome lines to say which took the character to a different level. I gave my 100% to the situation."
