Natak Pictures and FNP media introduced their first joint project- a short film titled ‘Dahej ka scooter’, this week.
Stressing on the necessity to mold family values and age-old traditions to best fit the needs of a new-age modern woman, the comedy short has been winning acclaim at various international platforms.
Currently streaming on YouTube, the film has already bagged a huge viewership in just a week of its release
Conceptualized and directed by Rahul Bhatnagar, ‘Dahej ka scooter’ is a story that builds up with the tension between a bride and groom-to-be and melts down to a simple and sweet climax where the bride changes a family tradition in order to protect a prized possession of her soon-to-be family.
It is a story of a small town soon-to-be-married couple and the sharp turn that their love story takes when the girl is asked to fulfill a condition in order to marry the boy.
Playing the lead ‘Pihu’ in the film is Tanya Singh, also the actress of Natak Pictures’ popular short film ‘Unarranged’.
Hailing from a small town in Kanpur, Tanya is breaking stereotypes not just on the screen but also in real life, trying her way into the mainstream cinema.
Ravina Singh, an OTT artist, is playing the role of ‘Rimmy’ Pihu’s smart best friend
The short film also had its crew led by some highly talented women like Heena Ahmad, (Assistant Director), Sunayana Singh (Director of Photography), Divya Kehr (DI Colour Grading), and Kanika Gupta (line production).
Expressing his views, Writer & Director Rahul Bhatnagar says, “Wedding day is probably one of the most important days of any girl’s life, when she wants everything to be absolutely perfect.
To celebrate a girl’s emotions- her dilemmas, fears, excitement, courage attached with her wedding day and with her family-to-be, we created this short film.”
He adds, “We are extremely honoured to have associated with FNP Media on this project and look forward to working on more such short films together”.
In the short film Keshav Sadhna, a popular OTT actor, has played the role of Pihu’s future husband ‘Nakul’.
Sandhya Singh and Mahesh Gehlot are experienced actors playing the role of Nakul’s parents.
The simple plot of the film has been strongly magnetized by its background score, composed by Sanjoy Daz and Ambar Das.
