SHRADDHA KAPOOR’S SAINA NEHWAL BIOPIC SHELVED?
The 30-year-old actress who started her career with a flop, Teen Patti, in 2010 but later got huge success with the Bhatt-camp feature Aashiqui-2 with Aditya Roy Kapoor was all set to do a biopic based on Saina Nehwal but it seems that the project has gone for a toss lately.
A trade insider revealed to the publication that the Amole Gupte-directed film has been put on hold. Another source revealed, “The project has been pushed. One doesn’t know if it is indefinitely postponed or whether it has been deferred for a bit.”
Incidentally, Shraddha had already begun prepping for the film. “It’s probably going to be my most difficult film till date,” Shraddha had said, after announcing that she will portray the former World No 1 badminton player on 70mm.
Shraddha was reportedly being trained in badminton by none other than Saina’s coach and former badminton player Pullela Gopichand. However, reports were doing the rounds that the actress was having difficulty in picking up the sport, which was hampering the film’s progress. It is not known if this is the reason for the delay.
Apart from Saina, Shraddha currently has Prabhas-starrer Saaho and Shahid Kapoor-starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu in her kitty.
