I have known Sham Ji as I call him for years and have seen him take rapid strides in his life and become the master action co - ordinator who is known in Bollywood, Hollywood and in different film industries around the world .

I have also known him as a very humble and God - fearing man who shows his gratitude to both God and man all the time .

And never has he been as grateful as he has been ever since his son actor Vicky Kaushal married Katrina Kaif in a grand marriage ceremony in Jaipur in one of the best known hotels .

The marriage made news all over even though the media was kept away and there was tight security all through the days of the wedding .

Sham ji is a very relaxed father after he saw his son getting married in a way he had not even expected in his wildest dreams when he first came to Bombay twenty five years ago .

In the meanwhile , life continues for the couple and for Sham Ji and his humble and simple wife , Veena ...

Wedding is almost over ( except for the reception for their Bollywood friends which is expected to be held at the J W Marriott on December 20 ) and the couple is already back to work .

Vicky Kaushal has been shooting for a commercial and Katrina too has started shooting with Salman Khan , Sunny Kaushal is shooting for Dinesh Vijayan's film in Dubai and Sham Kaushal is back to shooting back to back films in different parts of the country , working on some very prestigious films .

Sham Ji gives all the credit for the wedding to have gone smoothly to God who he believes plans things for man in his own almighty ways and man can keep praying and praying , but God will always stick to his plans . That is what happened in the case of the Vicky and Katrina wedding .

Sham Ji is so grateful that he finds words difficult to come to him to describe his feelings . He is a relieved father who has seen the first great experience in his personal life succeed in better ways than he had expected .

Since the last few days , Sham Ji is busy thanking friends , relatives and others who have been very supportive and cooperative to the Kaushal family of which he is the head .

He has been so particular about showing his gratitude that he has reached out to his village in Punjab from where he came first and where Vicky had spent his childhood .

It was very moving to hear that Sham Ji even found his professor who taught him Economics and all his elders who had seen him as an efficient student who had done his M A in English .

In our short talk , Sham Ji must have talked about gratitude and God at least ten times , which only shows that he firmly believes that man may do what he wants , but it is God who will always have the final say .

He was very emotional when he again expressed his gratitude to God and the people who have been with him through his exciting and now emotional journey.

And as he asked me and all his friends and admirers to pray for Vicky and Katrina , he kept repeating his mantra which said. " God is kind". And people have also been kind to Sham Ji and now to his son and his daughter in law , Katrina .

And as someone who has still to believe in the institution of marriage , I hope this marriage wipes out all negative thoughts about marriage and becomes an ideal marriage that could change my opinion about marriage and the opinions of many others who are losing their faith in marriage and dangerously even in God who according to a great believer in both God and marriage and says " God is kind " even when the odds are not entirely in his favour.
