Siddharth Bodke Wants To Do Roles That Make Him Uncomfortable

Sidhharth Bodke, who is currently performing in the play Ananya, says that the play is very close to his heart. Talking about his character, he adds, “My character is a surprising element in this play. The name of my character is Jay Dixit. He enters the play in the second half and in 20-25 minutes, he changes the mood of the play. The way he speaks, his thoughts and the kind of personality and aura he carries that are very interesting to play. He gets a different vibe in the play and he is a very important character in Ananya's life. Ananya is a beautiful play it is a love story, an inspirational story of a girl who goes through a tragic incident and after that how she struggles and leads to success. Jay dixit is a very important character in the play so that's why this role is very special.”

The play has been adapted from its Gujarati and Marathi versions in the past. Siddharth has been part of the Marathi version and loved the fact that he got to perform it in Hindi too. “The play has happened in Gujarati and in Marathi and it is still going on. We have completed 75 shows approximately. Pratap Phad sir, who is the writer and director of this play, when he thought of casting for Hindi Ananya, I wasn't part of it initially. But then, later on, I got a call from sir and he said that he wanted me to do this role. I feel very honoured and fortunate to do this role. Ananya's whole team got many awards. This is my first Hindi play and I am loving it,” he says.

The actor has been seen in …….. and is currently part of Marathi show 'Tu Ashi Javali Rha' on Zee Yuva. Talking about working in films, TV and theatre, he says, “Each medium has its own beauty. I have started with theatre and I feel that theatre is fun because it has a live audience. Theatre show does not have cuts, you have to be spontaneous so that is the beauty of theatre. Personally, I like to work in all three mediums as my passion is acting.”

 The actor is on the lookout for interesting work. “I want to do roles are out of my comfort zone, which would make me uncomfortable. After doing such roles, the actor inside me will grow. I want to discover every aspect of life. I want to become a hero, I want to play a role like a Bollywood hero also and other intense characters,” he says.
