Siddharth P Malhotra’s ‘Hichki’ celebrates two years; shares memories of Rani Mukherjee and crew
Although it was called 'Hichki', the film never had a single hiccup at both, the box office and with critical acclaim, when it released back in 2018. As the film completes two years, Malhotra shares fond memories from the sets of the film and his charming leading lady "Rani Mukherjee", with pictures and videos on social media.

'Hichki' portrayed the journey of a school teacher suffering from Tourette syndrome, and for Malhotra, the film was a dream that came true because of everyone who worked on it. According to the director, he had a tough time getting this film made as it lacked financial viability. The fact that his previous film 'We Are Family' had not done particularly well, this movie made it even more challenging. “No actor or studio was ready to consider this film until Rani and YRF flew in like angels,” he said. In his Instagram post, Malhotra thanked Mukherjee for "seeing the same film as him" and spoke about her "infectious energy" that made 'Hichki' a journey everyone was happy to undertake.

Malhotra has always been an admirer of Mukherjee and her work, “Rani is one of the coolest people to work with. I cannot imagine Hichki turning out the way it did with anyone else as Naina,” he added.

With Bollywood accustomed to throwing blingy parties for even the slightest successes, Malhotra's virtual gesture to celebrate #2YearsOfHichki is appreciated in light of the current pandemic. A number of Bollywood celebrities have been seen celebrating life and staying safe at the same time, with long-distance celebrations and virtual get-togethers.

In Malhotra's social media post, he didn't fail to thank the entire team of YRF, right from Aditya Chopra, to every single technician and spot boy in his team. "Hope we can bring many more memorable stories to u time and again!!!", he said.
