SIDHARTH MALHOTRA TO PLAY KARGIL MARTYR CAPTAIN VIKRAM BATRA IN BIOPIC?

If there's one trend that's been ruling Bollywood, it has to be biopics! After the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, it is now Bollywood's newest chocolate boy Sidharth Malhotra who might join the biopic wagon real soon. The actor has reportedly signed his next project, which is a biopic based on the Kargil Martyr, Captain Vikram Batra.

A source close to Sid revealed in a report to DNA saying, “He loves the script and feels that Vikram’s is a heroic story that needs to be told. Whatever happens, it will be him, who plays the role. He’s tight-lipped about the project for now, but he has given it the green signal.” The source also went on to reveal how Sid had been wanting to do a biopic for quite some time now and said, “Sidharth has been offered biopics, but he was keen on doing an inspirational story—and what better than the one on Captain Vikram Batra’s life! Aiyaary is based on real incidents, but this will be a proper biography on screen—Sid’s first.”

Captain Vikram Batra was an officer of the Indian Army who was posthumously awarded with the Param Vir Chakra. He was the man credited to capturing Point 5140 from right under the enemy’s nose on June 19, 1999. He was often referred to as 'Sher Shah' (Lion King) in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan Army.

After A Gentleman, Sidharth Malhotra already has two big banner films, Ittefaq and Aiyaary in his kitty.
