Sridevi was born in Chennai. He enjoyed facing the camera since childhood. Keep in mind that he was born in 1963 when cameras were a rare commodity. 

Sri was only four years old when she got her first offer to work in films as a child artist, that film was Kandhaan Karunai and the role was of 'Lord Karthikeya', who is better known as Murugan Devta in South India. goes. Sridevi was so comfortable in front of the video camera even on the first day as if she had been acting for years. His mother noted this happiness which proved to be very helpful for his future career. 

Everyone liked Sridevi's screen presence in Kandhaan Karunai so much that she got a queue of films for the role of a child artist. At the age of just 7, Sridevi became so busy that she had to shoot two shifts a day and bunk school every day. 

Sridevi's father Ayyapan was a well-known lawyer in the Tamil Nadu court, he fully supported his daughter's film career but did not want her education to be harmed. To solve this problem, he appointed a permanent tutor with Sridevi who was present with Sridevi on every set. Even during outdoor shooting, this master sahib along with Sridevi's mother Rajeshwari, and sister Srilata used to follow behind to watch the shooting. But in this hustle and bustle, there was less studying and more shooting. 

One day famous cinematographer Balu Mahendra came to Sridevi's house and asked her mother, “Do you have any saree? You make Sridevi wear it." Sri's mother was confused, yet she quickly made Sridevi wear a saree. Balu Mahendra saw her in different poses and left the house without saying anything special. The next day everyone in the studio started congratulating Rajeshwari ji, “Congratulations, your daughter has become a leading actress. While Sridevi and her father were happy with this news, her mother found this development too hasty. Then why not, Sridevi was only ten years old at that time. Does anyone become a leading heroine at the age of ten? 

There were two heroes with Sridevi in ​​this film. Sridevi, who was acting with both the veteran actors, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, at the age of just 11, was very comfortable. The name of the film was 'Mondru Modichu' which means 'Three Ganthes'. For this role, Sridevi also got her first nomination at Tamil Filmfare Awards. 

Coming to Hindi films was no less than a coincidence for Sridevi. It so happened that a new director named Bharathiraja made the film '16 Vayathinile' in Tamil language with Sridevi and Rajinikanth in 1977 (1977) and the film became a super-duper hit. Taking inspiration from this, in 1979 (1989) he also made Solvan Saavan in Hindi with Amol Palekar and Sridevi, which flopped miserably. Sridevi had also done a film named Rani in Hindi as a child artiste but that too could not do anything special at the box office and Sridevi had decided not to work in Bollywood films after Solvan Sawan.

 

 In 1982, Sridevi signed a contract with Telugu filmmaker Raghavendra Rao to do 24 films when suddenly he announced that he wanted to make a Hindi film with Sridevi. Now both Sridevi and her mother were very angry that while there was talk of working in Telugu, their film Solvan Sawan in Hindi had also flopped. Why take the risk of doing a Hindi film? But Raghavendra Rao was sitting with Jitendra with a different plan. He cast Sridevi and Jeetendra in the full-on fun-filled film 'Himmatwala' and the film created a stir at the box office. The more the film became a hit, the more Sridevi's popularity increased.

The success of Himmatwala was very good for Sridevi's career but mentally she had to endure a lot that she would never have faced while living in the South Industry. When Sridevi came to Mumbai during the promotion of Himmatwala, she was not even 20 years old. Suddenly she was surrounded by a lot of media people, she got so scared that without saying much she went to the hotel. 

Those who knew Sridevi also say that Sri Yun did not like to talk much. Sridevi used to say 'My work is speaking, then why do I need to speak'. 

But Sridevi was as introverted as she was professional, after Himmatwala she did many films with Jeetendra, one of them was Mawaali with Sridevi along with Jaya Prada. Both of them used to give their shots very beautifully but after the completion of the shot, Sridevi used to sit on a chair in a corner and did not even look at Jaya Prada. When Jaya Prada was unhappy with this, Jeetendra explained a lot to Sridevi that to maintain good chemistry with co-actors in the film, she must talk to everyone, but after saying yes, Sridevi used to be like that again from the next day. Sitting in a corner, lost in herself. 

The same Balu Mahendra, who had announced Sridevi as a lead actress at the age of just ten years, gave Sridevi the lead role in his film Sadma, for which she again got a nomination at the Filmfare Award. 

Sridevi did many commercial films with Jeetendra, including films like Jaani Dost, Justice Choudhary, Maksad, Baidyan Aag, and Shola, which were also successful in doing good business at the box office. But Sridevi found Shekhar Kapur's 'Mr. India' was the turning point of her entire career because after this film she got recognition all over India. After Mr. India, people often said, 'Wow! Sridevi also does acting. 

While there was no actress better than her in acting, speaking Hindi was still a difficult task for her. Dubbing artists had lent their voices to him in many films like Himmatwala, Mawali, Justice Chaudhary, etc. but for the film Aakhri Raasta, superstar actress Rekha dubbed for him, which was a big achievement in itself. You might remember that once upon a time Rekha used to be trolled a lot for not knowing Hindi, but that's a story for another time. But even without understanding the Hindi dialogues given to Sridevi, she used to speak them as it was with such a feeling that people were not ready to accept that Sridevi did not know Hindi. But some critics also called her Rattu Parrot because she used to memorize written texts like a parrot. 

The producer of Mr. India was Boney Kapoor and Sridevi was so attracted to Boney at first sight that despite being married and having two children, Boney was not able to stop himself from getting attracted towards Sridevi. It is said that Boney Kapoor used to sit outside Sridevi's house for hours, waiting for her. 

She had a double role in the film Chaalbaaz, inspired by Dilip Kumar's Ram Aur Shyam and Hema Malini's Sita and Geeta, in which she was once again sharing the screen with Rajinikanth. His second hero was Sunny Deol. Not only did this film have a good box office collection, but it was also the first film to win the first Filmfare Award for Hindi films in Sridevi's kitty.

After Chaalbaaz, Sridevi did many blockbuster films including Khuda Gawah with Amitabh Bachchan, Lamhein, Laadla and Judaai with Anil Kapoor, Chandni with Rishi Kapoor, Farishte with Vinod Khanna, Army with Shahrukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt. Gumrah with Salman Khan and Chandramukhi in the lead. 

But at the time of the release of the blockbuster film Judaai, Jhanvi Kapoor was about to give birth and from here, top actress Sridevi decided to take a break for some time and give time to her daughter. Just a week after the release of Judaai, on March 6, Jhanvi Kapoor was born and Sridevi brought her whole world into her home. 

In 2000, when Sridevi gave birth to her second daughter, Khushi, little Jhanvi looked at her and said, "Mummy, you have become fat, you should become like before again." Perhaps this was the inspiration for Sridevi that she decided to have two children. Even after this, he maintained himself so well till the end that it became difficult to guess his age. 

Sridevi and Boney Kapoor were sitting in the garden one day when filmmaker R-Balki came to their house and while chatting over tea, he told a story and Sridevi and Boney liked this story so much that Sridevi broke her film fast and went to do this. Said yes to the film. However, before this, she had done a small role in Halla Bol. But when she got the script of the film 'English Vinglish' to play the lead role again, she felt as if she was working on a film for the first time. 

Look amazing, Sridevi's Come Back film also became a superhit and box office pundits once again said that no matter how much time passes, no matter how much cinema changes, good talent never fails. 

Similarly, he also got the script of the film Maam, and this film, which came almost five years after English Vinglish, again kept the audience glued to their seats. For this film, he was awarded not only the Filmfare but also the National Award. 

Sridevi was supposed to return to India and receive the National Award for the first time in her fifty-year-long career, but as luck would have it, she had gone to Dubai for her relative's wedding when she died accidentally and 21-year-old Jhanvi was by her side. And Khushi, 18, received the award for him with tears in her eyes. He said something that every cinema fan admitted without any doubt “There was no actress like Sridevi before, there is neither there nor there will ever be.”
