SMPTE mentors will guide our upcoming generation to develop their skills and creativity, declared Subhash Ghai at the grand cocktails cum dinner organized by

SMPTE (Society of Motion picture & television enginers) at Grand Blossom Banquettes, Techniplex complex,Mumbai on 5th March,2020.The event was organised in the honour of SMPTE Global President Patrick Griffis and Executive director Barbara Lange's first visit to India in the history of 104 years of the company. The chief guest of the event were Subhash Ghai who is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter, known for his works predominantly in Hindi cinema and Oscar winner and Indian film sound designer, sound editor and audio mixer Resul Pookutty.The event was organised by  my dear friend and SMPTE-India section chairman Ujwal N.Nirgudkar and committee members R M Rao,S S Nair,Shailesh Parab,Vikram Joglekar and Rahul Purav. The event was all about the discussion of films and Television followed by media interaction.

In this event, discussions were made about the aspects of global technology involved in films and television industry. The event also made an official announcement between the Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers and Whistling Woods International under which SMPTE will train and mentor Whistling Woods International students with their global cinema experiences.

SMPTE signifies advances in media and entertainment technology.It defines the future of big media innovations.

It enables the technical framework and global professional community that makes motion picture, television and professional media available for all humanity to enjoy for artistic, educational and social purposes.

SMPTE’s global membership today includes more than 7,000 members : motion-imaging executives, creatives, technologists, researchers, and students who volunteer their time and expertise to the Society’s standards development and educational initiatives. A partnership with the Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) connects SMPTE and its membership with the businesses and individuals who support the creation and finishing of media content.

On interacting with media ,SMPTE Global President Patrick Griffis quoted that this is his first visit to India and he is quite impressed with the level of sophistication and commitment.India is dominant and leading global media power and is a quick learner.On the joint venture of SMPTE and Whistling woods international he said it will be very beneficial for both.In next 10 years,we will come across a lot of changes in terms of technology and standards.He further said technology gets you  connected to the other parts of the world, bringing the best in you.Learn from the best and innovate on your own.SMPTE is also trying to connect to the social media and there will be  language transition of the new technology and standards and India will the first test case for that as it is  the ocean of languages.For students he said ,school teaches the basic , but SMPTE will give them the state of art and storytelling experience.They will act as a partner for them to help them to bulit their career.

Subhash Ghai quoted it was an important evening, as SMPTE and Whistling woods international joined hands.Their mentors will guide our students and the upcoming generation to develop their skills and creativity which will be beneficial for our bollywood industry.
