SNEHA WAGH PERFORMED A 17-PAGE MELTDOWN MONOLOGUE SCENE IN ONE SHOT IN JYOTI

Acting as a career is a place where you can live the lives of many people at a time. And when you keep playing one character for a very long time, you are used to behaving like that person whenever you are in front of the camera. It seems very natural and effortless no matter how difficult the sequence is. Sneha Wagh who played the title role had one such experience in her show Jyoti which currently airs on Dangal channel. There was this one sequence where Jyoti has a complete meltdown and she is the only one speaking for a long time and expressing her feelings. Sneha says that she generally used to get her scripts on the same day but this time she received the script a day in advance and she was shocked to see that the script had a 17-page monologue for her.

I am sure that Sneha was very good at mugging all lessons by heart whenever she had to get ready for her examinations and this trait of hers has come in handy for her as an actress when it comes to delivering her lines. When asked about how she prepared for the scene she says, “I went home and marked the lines I wanted to emphasize on. I literally had to memorize the whole thing. I thought I was prepared enough, when the next day the director announced that it would be a one take shot. I was surprised but he allowed me the time to prepare. I was nervous to actually perform but once the camera started rolling, I only stopped once I was done. It seemed very natural. I think I was so used to playing Jyoti it didn’t feel like I was acting.” Sneha still doesn’t believe that she actually did that in one go! Jyoti is currently airing on Dangal TV at 10am & 9pm.
