Sneha Wagh plays a 65-year-old on Chandrashekar

While most actresses would think twice before ageing on screen, Sneha Wagh, who plays freedom fighter Chandrashekar Azad’s mother Jagrani Devi on the show, Chandrashekar, calls it one of the most fascinating roles of her career.

The character of Sneha Wagh as Jagrani Devi will span over 40 years. So, the actress, who started as a 25-yearold, will soon turn into a 65-year-old on the show. She shares, it was quite challenging for me to play a 65 year old on screen. The biggest challenge we faced to make me look convincing like a 65 year old was to create my look. In monsoon, the makeup wasn’t reliable and hence we used prosthetics. That would take 4 hours of my makeup time every day.”

Sneha Wagh has no insecurities playing an aged character as for her the story is more important than the image being portrayed. “I’ve been glad to be chosen to play such a patriotic character based on the real life of Chandrashekar Azad. The content written for the character was strong and pivotal. Hope the audience loved the journey of Chandrashekar.” Says Sneha Wagh
