At the heart of the trend-breaking & soulful Satyamev Jayate, Aamir Khan’s reality TV show that week on week took pertinent subjects that plague our society was Ram Sampath and Sona Mohapatra’s beautiful timeless music. The latter’s soulful voice & Ram’s incredible compositions left the audience emotional, charged up and often misty-eyed. Rupaiya, Bekhauff Azad, Ghar Yaad Ata Hai Mujhey or Oh Ri Chiraiya, Sona’s powerful voice & the music connected deeply with the audience. The musical duo will once again join hands to create a vibrant anthem for the closing ceremony of Khelo India’s first season of Khelo India University Games (KIUG) will be held from 22nd February – March 1, 2020, in Odisha. Their track titled – ‘Khelenge Shaan Se’ will see them reunite after the third season of the show which aired in March 2014.

Sona says, “Ram and I get each other’s energies and creative space very well but over the last few years we have not had the chance of working together. This song is a special one for us. It took us back to a lot of memories of working closely for over a decade. We have been each other’s sounding boards for as long as I can remember and because we are so familiar with each other’s strengths and weaknesses. This Khelo India Anthem is extremely close to both our hearts & and we can’t wait to perform it to a roaring stadium crowd at the opening ceremony. Ram is choosy about his work & the more silent partner in our team but in my opinion, no one can create a catchy stadium chant-like he can & the song itself is truly world standard like all his work, something India’s youth will sing along with & be inspired by! ”
