Sonam Kapoor Walks on The Ramp at The Launch of KARL LAGERFELD New Collection
KARL LAGERFELD and Cover Story—the designed in London, fast-fashion label from The Future Group—today unveiled their much-anticipated collaboration in Mumbai. Created exclusively for Indian fashion-lovers, the special-edition collection will present KARL LAGERFELD’s timeless, signature styles across Ready-to-Wear and Accessories for Fall-Winter 2019. The first look of the collection was aptly premiered at a fashion presentation featuring actor and style-icon Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, who wore a bold black layered bandeau dress from the collaboration.

The designs have been created while keeping in mind Indian body-types, seasonal and cultural preferences. The Daywear collection captures KARL LAGERFELD’s crisp, minimalist aesthetic fashioned in a monochrome palette. The play of athleisure with casual-chic makes for elegant silhouettes that can be worn to the board-room or at brunch. Key looks are crafted in black and white, with highlights of red. A snow-leopard mono-print and bold houndstooth design, along with boucle fabrics, brings texture and dimension to the range. Must-haves for the day include: the iconic, fitted white blouse with a black-tie; oversized as well as peplumed white shirts; the poplin shirt-dress, elegantly cinched at the waist with a logo belt and a fit-and-flair dress in houndstooth.
The Evening collection celebrates the glamour of Paris by night. From sequins ad bodycon silhouettes to tux detailing, chains and studs, the range pays a fashionable tribute to rock-chic. Must-haves for festive evenings include: a black sequinned wide-leg jumpsuit; an androgynous tuxedo suit; a tuxedo-dress juxtaposed with a georgette sleeve and a deep red halter-neck knitted dress worn with a studded leather jacket.
A comfortable range of trench-coats, leather jackets and logo sweatshirts not only make for ideal travel companions, but can also be used to layer day-looks this Winter.
In an industry first, the ‘KARL LAGERFELD for Cover Story’ collection is available across 19 stand-alone Cover Story shops across Delhi, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Vadodra, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kolkata. In New Delhi, the collection will also be available at specially curated ‘KARL LAGERFELD for Cover Story’ pop-up spaces at Select City Walk and DLF Promenade to be launched in November 2019.
