'SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY' MOVIE REVIEW

Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety movie features Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Singh and Nushrat Bharucha. The movie is directed by Luv Ranjan and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ankur Garg and Ranjan as well. Both Kartik and Nushrat will be seen for the fourth time in collaboration with the director, Luv Ranjan. They were earlier seen in Pyaar ka Punchnama, Akaash Vani and Pyaar ka Punchnama 2. Sunny Singh was also seen in Luv Ranjan's Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 and majorly known for his role as 'Chauka.' Conflict between the releasing dates of Padmaavat and Padman made Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety makers to switch their releasing date as well. The movie was earlier scheduled to be released on 3rd November 2017, later on 9th February and it got finally released worldwide on February 23.

STORY

The story revolves around two best friends Sonu and Titu who are more like brothers from different mother. Titu is the innocent and sweet guy whereas, Sonu is the smart ass who is over protective for his brother-cum-friend Titu and tries his level best to save him from any threat. After getting irritated from all the love affairs, Titu decides to get married in an 'arrange-marriage' way. Sonu's best friend is now going to marry a perfect girl, Sweety, who is too good to be true and that is the reason from where all the problem begins. Sonu cannot digest the fact that how can a girl be so sweet and perfect and start his investigation, planning and plotting against sweety to break their marriage. Sweety, on the other hand is loved by all other family members because of her perfect nature and Sonu is the only person who finds her suspicious and fishy. The movie has its plot twist starting from there when Cold war starts between Sonu and Sweety, which leads to war between Bromance vs Romance. The main focus of the film is the question 'Dosti aur Ladki me hamesha jeet Ladki ki hoti hai' and who wins in the end is what Luv has to offer in this movie.

CAST AND CHARACTER

Kartik Aaryan as Sonu who is an event manager, Sunny Singh as Titu who has its own family sweet-shop and Nushrat Bharucha as Sweety who works in an NGO. The movie also features Alok Nath as Ghasite. We have seen Alok Nath playing many positive roles in movies and majorly for his role in Vivah movie but this time he will be seen doing something different showing his quirky and witty side. Other cast includes Virendra Saxena, Deepika Amin, Ayesha Raza Mishra, Pawan Chopra and Pawan Jais. There is a special appearance of Sonnalli Seygall and Ishita Raj Sharma in the movie who were also seen in Luv Ranjan's Pyaar ka Punchnama and Pyaar ka Punchnama 2.

PERFORMANCE

We have always seen Kartik and Nushrat opposite to each other in every other movies and this time it is something very different for the audience to watch these two in a war mode. Sunny was already a part of Ranjan's Akaash Vani and Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 and the guy really has some potential. His role of Chauka was pretty much interesting and he has also played a great part in this movie. It will be true to say that Sunny is evolving with time. Nushrat looks very beautiful and stunning in the movie. The role of 'Neha' and 'Chiku' is something which we can never forget and this time she will surprise us with her vampish role. She depicted her character very well creating great looks, moods and evil smile on her face. Apart from having two other main leads, Its a kartik Aaryan show all over. Although, we don't have any other Monologue in the movie by Kartik Aaryan but his way of presenting dialogue in a hilarious way was on point. He is the handsome hunk who cleverly knows how to portray his character in the best way possible.

DIRECTION AND EDITING

The movie is directed by Luv Ranjan, who has its own philosophy and does not always portray women and girls in good light. He chooses to describe the modern days relationship through his movies like in Pyaar ka Punchnama,  Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 and now in another movie Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety. The best part about Luv is that he sketches his character very well and directs it in such a way that the actor playing the role portray it with ease and in a very natural way. His movies are always entertaining and interesting and connects with every other normal person watching it. The movie has a funny plot in it which was very brilliantly played by his actors.

The director managed to keep the suspense till the end and it is thrilling enough to watch the climax to know the ultimate question 'Dosti aur Ladki me hamesha jeet Ladki ki hoti hai' which was raised by the director. The shooting of the film has been done in Mumbai, Rishikesha and Georgia. The set which was made at the climax wedding scene compliments very well with the situation.

'Flashbacks' are used in the movie to narrate the previous story of Titu's ex-girlfriend. Many other effects and transitions are used to depict the scenes very well.

MUSIC

The movie does not have any strong background music in it but definitely the movie has some soft background music to keep the balance with the mood of the scene and the character. The movie has some great tracks which makes it even more favourite for any person to like. Romantic song 'Subah Subah' to fall in love with. It also has a song 'Tera Yaar hoon main' which defines the relationship of friendship very well in the magical voice of Arijit Singh.

The other three songs from the movie makes your feet tap, in which two of them 'Dil Chori' and 'Chhote Chhote Peg' is nailed by Yo Yo Honey Singh and the third is  'Bom Diggy Diggy' by Zack Knight which was earlier a single but later adapted in the movie.

In a Nutshell, it is another great movie by Luv Ranjan and can be considered as the third instalment of Punchnama series with some other great elements added to it. Go and watch the war between Bromance vs Romance and find out who will win. Is it really the girl who wins, when there is a fight between friendship and girl or is there something else which Luv Ranjan has to offer. For me its a must watch and 3.5/5 for the movie.
