The movie showcases the complexities that Vidya Vincent (Vidya Balan) faces as a Divisional Forest Officer, a typically male dominated profession.

Laced in lethargy and corruption, wrapped in this power struggle lies a bigger problem of wildlife conservation and the insensitive human attitude towards this issue.

Amongst the mayhem that is caused by a man-eating tiger, the pressure is high on the officials to catch the prey whilst underplaying the fact that deforestation is at an all-time high in the area, and the tiger is just practicing its inherent nature of hunting for survival.
