For me, Diwali is a festival that gives you an opportunity to connect with your loved ones by meeting them, whether it’s your son who is working far away, or your daughter who is studying abroad and so on.

I haven't yet planned my Diwali this year as I have a really tight schedule for my show Baalveer Returns. But if I get some time off, I would love to visit my parents in Delhi and celebrate this festival with them. Since its festival season and I am a huge fan of sweets, I often prepare my favourite sweet dish GulabJamun during Diwali and I plan to do the same this year as well. This Diwali I hope everyone gets a chance to meet their family and celebrate Diwali together.

Diwali is all about spreading happiness and prosperity. I usually celebrate this festival with my friends here in Mumbai as my family lives in Delhi. Me and my friends always make it a point to do Diwali pooja followed by a party. This is year, since I am away from my family, I have shopped some lovely clothes for them, online. I get excited during Diwali as I am a Mithaai fan. I love eating any kind of sweets but I simply love moong dal burfi and milk cake. I never miss these two sweets during any festival. I wish everyone a very happy Diwali filled with delicious sweets and prosperity.

I believe in celebrating every festival or special occasion with family and Diwali is the same for me. It is a time when everyone gets time off and I think Diwali is the best occasion to spend time with family. Although, the best thing about Diwali is the variety of delicious sweets you get to eat. This year, apart from wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali, I would also pass on a message. My message to everyone is that let’s make this Diwali a KhushiyonWali Feeling for those in need as well. Instead of spending too much money on buying fire crackers or clothes, we can try help some kids celebrate Diwali happily and the way they have wanted to.

Diwali for me is meeting friends that I don’t get to meet often because my everyday routine is very monotonous as I go to work, directly come home and sleep. So, I make it a point to meet all my friends during Diwali and spend some time with them. They call me to Diwali parties at their places and this is going to be my plan this year as well. Diwali brings in the opportunity to wear colourful Indian dresses, which I love in general. My mom designs clothes and I always wear these beautiful dresses designed by her during Diwali. Although I'm not a fan of sweets but since its festive season, I love eating Milk-Cake and usually prepare it myself at home.

Diwali is a festival of lights and happiness and according to the Hindu culture, it is also the new year, bringing freshness to lives. Diwali is not a one day festival, it is a celebration of around 10 days, including the house cleaning, decoration, Govardhan Pooja and many other festivals in each culture. So, our family gets together during this festive period and we go to visit our relatives as well. I love wearing good clothes for Diwali and we light up our home with beautiful candles and lights. We never miss out on eating loads of sweets during Diwali and my favourite delicacy is Mohan-Thal from Ahmedabad. This year, I'm planning to have my parents here for Diwali and I hope everyone gets to celebrate this festival with their near and dear ones.
