Kat-Katha, the NGO that works with women and children living in brothels of GB road organised the special screening of short film Bhukkad - The Hungry Ones, today at GB Road for the women and their children working at the Red Light Area.

Educationist Shantanu Prakash’s film has been written and conceptualized by Swati Bhattacharya, and in collaboration with Millennium World Schools and is going to be screened specially for the women and children of red light areas of different cities of India before being released for public viewing. Abhishek, the child artist who has given a stunning performance in the film was also present for the screening.publive-image

Speaking on the occasion, Shantanu Prakash said, “today's event and the film Bhukkad resonates with the philosophy of the millennium schools which have love for learning and joyful learning as its bedrock. Today the millennium schools are satisfying the hunger for learning for over 35000 students across the country.”

“Our schools are opening doors for the children from slums and red light areas. We’ll happy to impart education to them. To make India great again, let’s come together and make every citizen educated and empowered,” added Shantanu.Shantanu Prakash addressing at the film screening_

Swati said, “with the release of the film a social initiative - The Open Door Project - is also being launched that will help the children of sex workers get quality education and a dignified life. While the film urges kids to never stop learning it invites organizations and individuals to be a part of the Open Door Project.”

Dr Bindu Rana, founder and CEO of The Millennium Schools said, “Our Noida branch opens its doors, to offer free classes to the underprivileged every afternoon. The initiative has garnered the support of many organizations. Joining hands with Kat-Katha, NGO that provides education to commercial sex workers and their children, living on GB road, we are reaching out to help and support the children from slums and red light areas.”
