Sridevi last rites: Bollywood celebrities arrive to pay their respects

The whole nation was in a state of shock after the news broke about the demise of India's first female superstar, Sridevi. The 54-year-old actress passed away in her hotel room in Dubai on Sunday, with the autopsy report citing 'accidental drowning' as the cause of death.

Celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Karishma Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, Shanaya Kapoor, Nagma, Ameesha Patel, Anshula Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Jaya Prada and many more visited the residence of Anil Kapoor to pay their respects and now when the mortal body of Sridevi has arrived in Mumbai, many more celebrities have come ahead to pay the their respect to the actress. An official statement released by the family stated that the actor’s body will be kept at Celebration Club in Andheri from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm on Wednesday for fans and celebrities to pay their respects. This will be followed by the last rites rituals and cremation which will be performed at around 3.30 pm.

Early Wednesday morning saw a number of fans, media personnel, Bollywood celebrities and public figures pour into the Celebration Sports Club in Lokhandwala to pay their respects to the legendary actress and offer their condolences to the family. Celebrities like Karan Johar, Farha Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Manish Paul, Urvashi Rautela were among the first few to arrive at the venue.

Late last night, Salman Khan was seen arriving at the Kapoor’s Lokhandwala residence to pay his last respects. According to report doing the rounds, the star broke down on seeing Sridevi’s body.
