SRIDEVI TO RECEIVE A SPECIAL SALUTE AT CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

Sridevi passed away in Dubai on February 24, 2018, due to accidental drowning in a bathtub. This news came as a shocker for Bollywood and the entire nation.

Sridevi was remembered at the Academy Awards this year. Not just this, the late actress was also awarded Best Actress Award at the National Film Awards this year for her performance in Mom, which was her 300^th film. Now, the actor will receive a special salute for her contribution in cinema at Titan Reginald F. Lewis Film Honours at Cannes Film Festival.

Boney Kapoor talked about the global recognition bestowed upon Sridevi with Hindustan Times and said; “I’m happy that people from the world over are recognising her body of work and her contribution to cinema. Even though the overwhelming emptiness of losing her remains, it’s comforting to know that she lives on through her work.”

Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor will attend the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, 2018 for Sridevi’s special salute.
