The actress, who was last seen in Hamariwali Goodnews, decided to take a little break from TV but is very grateful to the medium for helping her achieve her dreams.

“My last show was Hamari Wali Good News, even before I took on the show I had been contemplating trying out different mediums and exploring. Post the wrap-up, I decided I needed a little change and we all look to grow and branch out and experiment.

While I’m super grateful to the TV industry, it has made me who I am today. So much love and appreciation I’ve received.

But I wanted to take a break and work on myself and keep the door open for other opportunities in different mediums,” she says.

She adds, “I worked on myself, I first decompressed then got down to really working towards manifesting a dream project. And I did, there’s nothing you cannot achieve if you dream it.

I’m about to make my Punjabi debut and I’m really excited for this one. It’s the first full-on power-packed action romance genre in the industry.

The whole team is really pumped as we are bringing something new to the table. It’s a gamble, but risks pay off right?”

Ask her what she has learnt from her time on TV, and she says, “TV really polished me as an artist, it was like tough love! I was challenged at every step, every role and every show and was lucky to learn so much about the craft!

I started at 18, I’m 25 now! I gave quite a few years to the industry, and it gave back so much more! I’ll forever be grateful and would love to even work again if I find something that really speaks to me. This isn’t goodbye, just a see you after a break maybe. TV is home and it will always be.”

However, she says that it was important to take a break from the medium. “Now even though times have changed, for me, personally I needed to feel prepared. I took a break because I wanted to centre myself and work on enhancing my skill set.

Also, I feel this will allow me to keep the freshness alive. It’s been a while since people saw me in a long-term character so it’ll be easier to accept me in a different light I think because I’m really about to switch it up,” she says.

The actress adds that daily soaps really help shape an artist. “See everything has its own limitations but TV will have you doing 13 scenes a day, you’ll cry in the morning, you’ll laugh in the scene right after and maybe be angry post that!

Like I said, it really polishes you as an artist and you get to showcase your range as a performer!” she says.
