Another Heroic story by the King of Heroic films Akshay Kumar
The film Mission Raniganj is based on a real story, it is based on an incident that happened in Bengal on 13 November 1989, in which 65 laborers were trapped in a coal mine. This is the story of their rescue.
Question- When any real-story-based film is made, it gets such a good response, and how do you feel?
Akshay- When director Tinu narrated this story to me, I liked it very much. To date, only one film has come on this subject and that was 'Kala Patthar', so through this film, we got a chance to know what the origin of coal is. What problems and difficulties do the mine workers have to face? This is a true story, about a true and good person.
Akshay Kumar further asked his fellow actor Kumud Mishra to tell how the life of miners is working in mines. Kumud Mishra told that there was a time when their careers used to end within 15 to 20 years. And the fumes and dust inside the mine would reduce their life span.
Akshay Kumar said that when he heard about this topic, he had a desire to know more about this thing, just like when Airlift was made, many people did not know that its real story involved one lakh seventy thousand people being saved.
I like to bring such stories in front of people, like a film made on sanitary napkins or a film made on a toilet, I know that its commercial value is not as much as other films, but it is about information and knowledge. Everything is not just about what I can get from money, it is also about what I can give to society, and that is why I did this film, I am thankful to director Tinu who gave me the opportunity to do this film, and today this film is getting so much love, out of the four and a half stars that the film has got today, four stars are from Tinu and the remaining half stars are from us star-cast.
An artist of the film itself said that Tinu sir does very strong research on the topic he is making films on, and in this film, the story, emotions, emotional scenes, everything is measured, and the story entertains you throughout the film, so the majority credit should go to the Tinu Sir.
Talking about Tinu, Kumud said that during a scene of the film when 40 actors were shooting in water for 2 days, director Tinu was also in the water with them, Kumud said that such a thing is rarely seen. Regarding Tinu's commitment, Kumud jokingly said that he deserved half the marks more.
Tinu said that the film was very difficult for everyone, so the entire team worked very hard, and the number of stars the film received was amazing due to the hard work of the entire team.
Tinu further said that he is feeling good about the love he is getting, he hopes that this film reaches maximum people and that people watch it and love it.
Tinu further said that he is very thankful that he got the opportunity to make this film and thanked all the people who agreed to this film and those who made this film.
Question- When you do non-commercial films, do the producers whose demand is to do commercial films discourage you?
Akshay- I do such films under my production house only, so I do not need any discouragement from anyone.
Question- This film was not promoted much, so would it have reached more people if it had been promoted?
Akshay- There is nothing like that, we did promotion for selfies, but nothing happened, promotion is a wrong aspect, when you watch a film you tell someone, he watches it and he tells someone else, good films are like that. Reaches people. Promotion has become like a trend, people want to see your content, and every film has its own way.
Pawan Malhotra said that this was the first time that the press was first shown the film and then called for an interview.
Kumud said, since you saw the film and you liked it, then isn't it the job of the media to tell people that if a film is good, then the media should write about which film is good and worth watching? People will see it again.
Question- How do your children react to your films?
Akshay- If he likes the film, he says, Dad, the film is nice, if not, then Dad, it was not good, that's all.
Question- Who is the biggest critic in your house?
Akshay- He speaks only two words, liked it or didn't like it, that's it!
Question- How different is working on fictional and real films?
Tinu- It is more difficult than separately, when we work on imaginary subjects, we have freedom but when we work on real subjects, we have to keep the things that happened in reality and also add those things that people know. As expected from such films, it is a bit difficult to show that mixture on screen.
Question- When the low phase of films comes, how do you deal with it?
Akshay- You have to always be happy, feel content, not pay attention to negative things, you have to feel high in your life, I was high in my entire 33-year career, nothing is low for me, I liked the story of the film, I do the film, that's it!
In response to this question, Pawan said that you know that Akshay is doing films of every category, so he has the right to fail, he is not playing a safe game, and he is doing new things, so some ups and downs are bound to happen. Yes, and an artist has the right to rise up after falling down when he is doing films of different categories.
Question- You also do commercial and true event-based films, so do you feel any pressure regarding the audience?
Akshay- I don't have any such pressure, I balance between the two but I like to do films with more true events that are impactful for society. I also like doing commercial films, like Hera Pheri, Welcome. So I maintain a balance.
Question- Some critic has written that when you wear pug then the film becomes a hit.
Akshay- Now I don't know this, but yes when I wear Pug I feel proud. One feels a responsibility after wearing a pug.
Question- Deepshikha ji, when you make a film on a real story, how challenging is it?
Deepshikha- When you make a film on a real life story, you automatically have a responsibility to keep the character on track, after listening to the story itself, I felt that the story of such a real life hero should definitely be on the big screen. Should go.
Question- When two National Award winners are working together, can a third award be expected?
Tinu- Now first see the response of the public.
Question- Now when the response to the film is coming, people are saying that Akshay, you deserve a National Award.
Akshay- I don't know but Tinu has definitely worked hard for this film, he has been associated with this film for the last 4 years, and I am proud of him that he has made such a good film and I am a part of it. Yes, I can say with certainty that this is one of my best films till date.
Question: How involved are you in the production and script development process?
Akshay- If I am a producer then I get involved in the production, and if I am also an actor in that film then I get involved during the script development also.
Question- Now the time for Pan India film is going on, so when will you get to see him in a Pan India film?
Akshay- Maybe next year
Question- Since it is built for coal miners, would you like to donate something for them?
Akshay- (jokingly) I won't do it after telling you, I will do it.
Question- The songs of this film have also received a very good response, so have you met the people of Raniganj and talked to them?
Akshay- No, I have not gone yet, but I have talked to about five thousand people who were mine officers and workers on a Zoom call, because I was in London at that time, I have also promised that if I ever go to shoot there, I will definitely go to meet him.
Question- You do both types of films, and you said that you do not have any stress about it.
Akshay- If I can make both types of films then why not, I am proud that I have made films on some good topics, and I want to make my children proud.
