SUBHASH GHAI : RANBIR KAPOOR, VARUN DHAWAN GOOD FOR RAM LAKHAN REMAKE

Ram Lakhan is a 1989 movie which was produced and directed by Subhash Ghai and had an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia, Raakhee and Anupam Kher. And now once again the popular movie is in news because of its remake. The movie was supposed to be re-made by Rohit Shetty and to be produced by Karan Johar.

Talking about the remake, the director of the original movie find Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan suitable for the role of Ram and Lakhan.

According to a leading daily, when asked about who among the younger stars he thinks can feature in the modern take of 'Ram Lakhan', Subhash Ghai said, "There are many brilliant actors today. Ranbir Kapoor is a great. Varun Dhawan is a great actor. There are so many who are good."

"If Rohit Shetty makes 'Ram Lakhan' with newcomers, even then it'll run. When I had started 'Ram Lakhan', both these actors (Shroff, Kapoor) were coming from five flops each. People had written them off. But I took them because in this film, characters are stronger than the stars," he added.

The movie has been currently put on hold.
