Recently IPL (Indian Premier League) has surpassed all the E sports league in terms of per match value and comes at the 2nd position after National Football League (NFL) of the USA.

IPL was started by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007, it is a men's T-20 cricket league which is played by 8-10 teams every Year and their names are usually based on the Indian Cities.

Team as follows: Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titans (GT), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Recently BCCI conducted an auctions of IPL media rights, where many Big Franchises such as Amazon India, Disney Star, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (Sony Pictures Networks India), Viacom18, Sky Sports (UK), Google India, FanCode (Dream11), MX Player, and SuperSport (South Africa) participated in the auction.

On June 11, BCCI revealed that among all the bidders in the auction Viacom18 has won the IPL digital rights in Package C for Rs 3,257.52 crore. Let us tell you that this year, the BCCI real winner as IPL value jumps 196% and becomes the Second most valued sporting league in terms of per match value Worldwide.

This Year The BCCI set a Base price of RS Rs 32,890 crore for the IPL media rights, Earlier in 2017 Star India won the bid at Rs 16,347.5 crore for the cycle 2017-2022, this auction happens in every 5 years and as we can see it is almost double of the last time.

Now You all must be wondering what Package C is, then let us tell you that BCCI real winner with the IPL media rights come into three categories. Package A, Package B and Package C. Package A: Indian sub-continent exclusive TV (broadcast) rights. Package B: Covers digital rights for the Indian sub-continent. Package C: For 18 selected games in each season for digital space. This time BCCI has fetched a record Rs 48,390 crore or Rs 118.02 crore per match over the next five-year cycle from 2023 to 27.

Viacom 18 has won in the Package C category, they are paying 3,257.52 crore for five years, Every year these 8-10 IPl teams plays 18-22 matches and and they will play around 98 matches in next five years, if we calculate the amount Viacom 18 paying, then they are paying almost a whopping amount of 33.24 Crores per match.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah also tweeted that "Since its inception, the IPL has been synonymous with growth & today is a red-letter day for India Cricket, with Brand IPL touching a new high with e-auction resulting in INR 48,390 crore value. IPL is now the 2nd most valued sporting league in the world in terms of per match value!"

If we talk about IPl how can we forget the Bollywood Connection into this, Bollywood's King aka Shah Rukh Khan also owns a team name as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and gorgeous actress Juhi Chawla is her co partner in the team, Beautiful actress Preity Zinta also owns an IPL team name as Punjab Kings (PBKS).
